The company was established aiming to offer easy access to education opportunities to a wide number of people who are not able to attend a face-to-face program/courses, due to geographical, health, professional, family or other constraints. In this way, SkillsUp responds to the current and growing needs of our society for learning, through alternative education programs and promotes equal opportunity in education. Different from most other online learning platforms, SkillsUp courses include synchronous communication and interaction with high qualified instructors, who support their students throughout their learning journey. Our programs adopt an assignment-based approach to assessment instead of exams. Assessment for the courses is based on written coursework, which receives timely and personalized feedback by the instructors. SkillsUp is committed to providing top quality services, which help people improve both personally and professionally. We believe in hands-on, learning-by-doing approach to education and research, since this is the most efficient way to operationalize the global mindset that is needed for professional success in the current circumstances.

The company's activity is built around three main pillars: 

• (Online) training courses provision;

• professional coaching services;

• community building & management; and

More analytically, we offer independent professional training and specialization programs in various disciplines, such as Education, Coaching, Business Administration, Communication and Humanities. These programs are offered in English; however, our instructors' can also deliver them in Greek, Spanish and Catalan upon request. All programs are taught by the highly qualified academics, who are accredited by international quality assurance agencies, and certified vocational education teachers with internationally recognized training as quality assurance professionals.

The increasing need for education and training and the rapid changes that are taking place in the external business environment led to the creation of the professional coaching department at SkillsUp. People are wrestling with job insecurity and increased workplace pressures to perform at higher levels than ever before. Companies must develop inclusive, collaborative work environments to achieve strategic business goals and to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Our coaches are partnering with their clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Clients can register to our online coaching courses or/and can have 1-1 sessions with our qualified staff.

To maintain this level of excellence in our activity, SkillsUp staff is participating in several research projects in the fields of education sciences, sustainability, learning and teaching, professional training and instructional technology.
