PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
To empower women in detention through inclusive and innovative education that strengthens communication, digital literacy, and democratic competences, fostering active citizenship, personal development, social inclusion, and successful reintegration into society.
MAIN OUTPUTS OF THE PROJECT
- Identification of the educational, digital, and social needs of women in detention.
- Modular, competence-based learning materials focused on communication, digital citizenship, and democratic participation.
- Accessible educational resources adapted to prison environments.
- A flexible digital learning approach designed for restricted or low-connectivity settings.
- Practical resources for educators using gender-responsive and trauma-informed teaching approaches.
- Testing and assessing the learning programme in correctional settings.
- Recommendations and practical guidance for adopting the O.P.E.N. approach across Europe.
